Functie: Whole School Daily and Annual Timetabler
We are looking for a full-time (1,0 FTE) primary and secondary school timetabler. Pay scale 8 (min. €2110,- max. €3201,- full-time per month, before tax).

About the AICS
The AICS is the first Dutch International Primary and Secondary School in Amsterdam. We are affiliated with the Berlage Lyceum and the Europaschool in Amsterdam, which, together with a number of other schools, form the ‘Esprit Scholengroep Amsterdam’. The school is subsidised by the Dutch government, which enables us to deliver high quality education at competitive fees. The AICS is a school for international education that is accredited by the Council of International Schools and focuses on children from international backgrounds. Currently the school offers primary education to students aged 4 – 10 and secondary education to students aged 11 – 19. The main language of instruction for classes is English. After several moves since the start of the school in 2003, the AICS is now in two state of the art buildings with around 1300 students.

You need to be:
able to work as a team member in a new school;
flexible and open to new ideas;
fluent in spoken and written Dutch;
able to signal to and advise the leader of operations on the timetable consequences of student number and (educational) policy trends;
able to identify long-term threats and opportunities of the timetables to management;
able to plan and design the final primary and secondary annual school timetables and daily school timetables (e.g. magic roundabout, lunch break supervision, PE bakfiets schedule) according to certain criteria, using verified listings to avoid ambiguous or missing data;
able to ensure that deadlines are met, information is accurate, relevant people are informed and that current policies and procedures are followed;
able to ensure an up-to-date inventory of school space and allocate classrooms and other areas and to inform appropriate people;
able to monitor the resolution of timetabling and booking conflicts or problems;
able to monitor the distribution of listings of programmes, times, dates and class lists to the primary and secondary departments for verification;
working under the direction of the leader of operations;
working closely with the leaders for learning.
You need to have:
experience with the daily and annual timetabling process;
experience with advising the leader of operations on annual timetabling alternatives and consequences, based on verified data;
experience with different timetabling systems (e.g. Zermelo, Untis et cetera);
experience with the administration and registration of particular data related to the timetabling process (e.g. availabilities, cover, special leave, salaries);
a commitment to the school’s mission to provide community-based international learning;
experience of working in English;
experience of, or an enthusiasm to use, the International Primary Curriculum and the Internal Baccalaureate;
some knowledge and experience of other teaching and educational methodologies;
an understanding and knowledge of different cultural backgrounds;
excellent communication skills and ability to function well within a team.
